Planes 04:01
they froze in the sky planes on their way to alaska, horizon and jet blue and i was with you and we made a pair we made a pair out on the street with our neighbors just staring up there we made a pair stay alone leaving the ground things that we need like toyotas, trash bags and lawn chairs we made a pair whirlybird flies he’s on a mission to save lives but your upside is down sir and I was with her stay alone out of the blue silver plastic inflated 747 to take me to heaven and it touched the ground kicked up a cloud and I started to cry to weep and to moan cause it was coming for me and i was leaving alone she said nothing is set there’s nothing to say never atone

wise in the abstract dumb as concrete i forget how to lie to you i can’t find my own feet the lines will fade when i suffer soul sickness you nurse me with hours perfecting our nostalgia in our new neighborhood the lines will fade so let’s duck our divisions on a dry winter night cast gold in the backyard living room floodlights the lines will fade words rise between us up from the depths through a lattice of wires and break on the firmament

about

Planes was recorded and mixed in the basement of Erik's home in Portland, Oregon over the last three years. Many of our songs evolve from relaxed, self-hypnotizing jams, but in contrast to the mellow abstractions of our first s/t album, Planes is filled with an angry compulsion to move on from past regrets.

Summer Ono is influenced by the Flaming Lips, Werner Herzog, Chi-Chi the board monkey, Sonic Youth, studio mold, American Music Club, Air, dirty portmanteaus, Jawbox, Taco del Mar, Radiohead and Sea and Cake.
